Fun Times
Despite Miranda being disappointed in not going to school, we had a pretty fun day today. I decided to take her to the mall and have a "girl's day out". We had a great time. After walking around for a little while we went into the Disney Store and spent what seemed like an infinity just looking at everything. I told Miranda she could pick out one thing. Even though I kind of had a small influence on the decision she ended up choosing a Tinkerbell play set that was on sale for $3.99!!! I was thrilled with the price and she was thrilled with the toys. Then we went to the play area and spent about an hour there. She played hard and really enjoyed being around other kids. Finally we were a little hungry so we went to Chick-Fil-A and split a meal and IceDream cup. It was an excellent day with my little girl. I think I will really miss this when the craziness of the new baby hits. I hope I can still find time to spend with Miranda, just the two of us.
Snow Day!!!
Oh no! Another SNOW DAY!!!
I am beginning to run out of ideas to keep Miranda occupied. It is very difficult since it is too cold to go outside and normally to dangerous to drive anywhere. Although a rumor I have heard on the local weather says that the temperature will reach near 40* today! So maybe there is hope for the day.
Luckily, I saw the school closing before I woke Miranda up. Unfortunately, I was already up, showered, and dressed. Maybe I can get a lot accomplished before Miranda wakes up for good.

New Season
Oh wow! I just looked and saw the last post on here was back in June! I can't believe it has been that long since I posted. A lot has changed since then. I was attending college full-time trying to finish my BSN. I did really well last semester too. I had 13 hours and ended up with a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester! Woohoo!!! However, due to everything that is going on this semester and in the future year or so, my husband and I have decided to call it quits for my schooling for a while.
1. My family has so much going on this spring. Mark is finishing up his MBA, Mira is in preschool 3 days a week (in a different town, so lots of driving), and we are planning to buy our first home in the next few months (so lots of organizing and packing needs to be done in a short period of time). Despite our busy schedules we are still very able to be happy and silly together.
2. BABY #2 IS ON HER WAY!!! We are expecting our second daughter on May 28, 2011.
We are all very excited about her arrival. We have already decided on a name too. Bailey Anne!
So many things have to be finished before she arrives. With only 18 more weeks to go, I don't know if we can accomplish everything in time. Although, with me being a SAHM now I think I can do as much as possible.
I hope to be able to post on here at least once every few days. Until the next time I have lots of cleaning and cooking to do.

Back to the Grindstone
Well....it has been a long time since my last post. Not a lot has happened since but I'll fill you in on the stuff that has.
My Spring semester finished pretty well. I ended up getting three A's and one B. Not a perfect score but at least I made the Dean's list for a second semester in a row. According to my academic adviser, I should be finished with my Associate's by the end of the Fall 2010 semester. Plans are to transfer to EKU for the Spring to finish my dual Bachelor's degree in Special Education (Learning and Behavioral Disorders) P-12 and Elementary Education P-5. I am taking three classes this Summer and they are running me into the ground. I have one from May 11 until June 22 that requires 10 observation hours, one that goes from June 7 until July 12 that requires 15 hours of observation, and then a science class that goes from June 24 until August 5. Then Fall classes start on the 18th of August. I hope I'll be able to survive through it all.
Mark is doing great in his MBA classes. His Economics class ends tomorrow night and then another one starts the week after (I think). He will be finished with his Master's next September and then...who knows. At least he will have a little more free time when the classes end. He is still teaching private chess lessons on the weekends and working full time during the week, so he doesn't have much free time to do what he wants.
Mira is growing bigger all the time. She keeps us on our toes constantly. She is now almost two and a half. She will be starting a preschool program in August to satisfy her hunger for constant knowledge. She is really into coloring books and Toy Story. Sometimes I come into her room and she is having tea with her Buzz Lightyear and Woody dolls. She even puts them in Time Out when they've been bad (her decision, not mine). Ah, the freedom of imagination.
Hopefully it won't be so long until my next post. But until then, have a great night!

Christmas shopping already???
This evening Mark and I drove to 4 different stores looking for the Pink LeapFrog TAG system. Finally found it at ToysRUs. I never thought this day would come so soon. Now I know how my mom felt when Cabbage Patch dolls and Pound Puppies were all the rage. The good thing about the purchase tonight was that we got the Pink TAG system plus three books for under $50 total. I sure do love manufacturer's coupons. Now the big decision. Should we give Mira her present now or wait until Christmas?
We are going to be putting our Christmas tree up tomorrow. Mark is off work and I only work from 12pm - 5pm. Mira will have a blast helping put the decorations up.

Ode to the electronic cat
It has been about 2 hours since Mira has finally fallen asleep. Now all I hear is the Beach Boys lullaby CD playing in her room and the Meowing and Purring of her little kitty. She sleeps with it every night and cuddles it. I'm afraid that when the batteries finally do run out, she won't be able to sleep at all. Pray that the batteries last at least until Christmas. :0)
Things are going great with school. Mark is doing wonderful in his second class of his MBA. I am doing great as well. Two A's, a B, and one that is borderline A/B. Not to shabby. Next semester will be my last at BCTC. I only have 19 hours left for the AA but the classes I need are not offered within the timeframe I need them to be in. So I am going to forego the AA and just transfer to EKU for my BS.
I am really enjoying my ASL class and am signed up to take the next one in the Spring. I hope to continue the ASL classes at EKU to complete a minor in the subject. It should be very helpful with my Spec. Ed. degree.
Thanksgiving is just right around the corner. I have been so busy with family, school, and work that time seems to have been lost. I guess I should start thinking about where and when the Christmas tree is going to go up. I have started with my holiday decoration already though. I have set up the lead crystal nativity set which is a Christmas staple at my house.
Well off to dream land for another visit. God bless to all!
